A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Ami! I’m the heart behind I Do by Ami, and I’m so glad you’re here.

A little about me beyond weddings—I’m a wife, a mom of three, and recently became a grandmother to my first grandson. And yes, I really am old enough. 😉 Family is a huge part of my life, and being surrounded by the people I love is one of the things I value most.

I moved to Maine about 17 years ago and never looked back. I absolutely love it here. There’s something about Maine that feels beautiful, majestic, and maybe even a little magical. From the mountains and lakes to the coast and changing seasons, I think it’s a pretty incredible place to call home—and an even more beautiful place to say “I do.”

When I’m not officiating weddings, I work in the special education department of a local school district, a job I truly love. Helping people has always been a big part of who I am, both personally and professionally.

That’s actually part of what led me to become a wedding officiant. I realized I could take something I already love—helping people—and use it to help couples create one of the most meaningful moments of their wedding day. I get to listen to their ideas, learn their story, and help make their wedding ceremony feel exactly the way they dreamed it would.

And I really can’t imagine a better place to do that than right here in Maine. ♡

Why I Became an Officiant

There’s something incredibly special about the moment two people stand together and say, “I do.”

I became an officiant because I’ve always loved the meaning behind that moment—the promises, the emotion, and the beginning of a new chapter together. I wanted to be able to help couples make that moment feel completely their own. I love being able to take the time to really listen to a couple, learn what matters to them, and help create a ceremony that feels like it could only belong to them.

For me, this isn’t about simply showing up, reading a script, and signing a marriage license. It’s about helping you feel comfortable, prepared, and genuinely excited about your ceremony.

Because when you look back on your wedding day, I want you to remember more than what was said. I want you to remember how it felt.

My Approch To Your Ceremony

I believe your wedding ceremony should feel like you—not like something pulled from a script and used for every couple. I love getting to know the people I work with, hearing their stories, and helping create a ceremony that feels comfortable, meaningful, and true to who they are.

Whether you’re planning a traditional wedding, a small backyard ceremony, an intimate elopement, or something completely your own, my goal is to make the ceremony one part of your wedding day you don’t have to worry about.

From answering questions and helping with vows to walking through the rehearsal and taking care of the legal details, I’ll be there to help you feel prepared and supported along the way.

And when your wedding day arrives? You get to focus on each other. I’ll take care of the ceremony.
